Hurricane-Affected Waldbaum’s to Reopen With Enhanced Features

MONTVALE, NJ – February 22, 2013 – Following the impact of Hurricane Sandy, the Belle Harbor Waldbaum’s located at 112-15 Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway, N.Y., will reopen its doors with a remodeled look and an expanded product selection on Friday, February 22.

“We are excited to welcome our Belle Harbor neighbors back to our newly remodeled store,” said Sam Martin, President and CEO of The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea, Co. “We are dedicated to rebuilding our stores in Sandy-impacted areas, and we have worked tirelessly to reopen as quickly as possible.  Now we’re back and better than ever to serve our neighborhood customers as they continue to recover from the storm.”

The 45,634-square-foot store was greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy. Items such as refrigerated cases, cold storage coolers, freezers, electronics and equipment were replaced. Additionally, the rebuilding of walls and shelving units were completed prior to reopening the store.

Waldbaum’s has a rich history of offering quality own brand items such as America’s Choice, Great Atlantic Seafood Market and Live Better Produce.
